Well as many of you know, I am adopted. I have been really blessed to be adopted into a wonderful Christian family, and wonderful Godly parents. My parents have two kids by birth, my two sisters Kristen and Emily, and then they decided not to have any more children. But, during a conference in which they were attending
the main speaker was talking to the audience about how children our a gift from the Lord and we need to welcome each and every miracle that God sends our way. Well, my parents prayed about adopting, but they didn't know exactly where from. Well, they got in touch with a Adoption Agency called Holt International Children's Service. After praying much about it and getting in contact with HOLT, mom and dad decided that they felt like God wanting them to adopt a little boy from India. My brother was adopted when he was just a baby, and he is truly a blessing and a miracle to our family. My parents felt like God leading them to adopt another little boy or little girl from India, so once again, they contacted HOLT and daddy inquired about a picture of me in one of there magazines. Well, when Joseph came to the states he had two escorts to escort him into the state, but when it was time for me to come, I only had one. It is required that a child being adopted have two escorts escorting them into the states. So, my parents, sister Emily, and brother Joseph came to India and got me. I was a terrified 5 1/2 year old little girl. I didn't want to be taken away from the people that I knew and the places I knew. I felt like these Americans were going to trick me and not ever bring me back. My mother couldn't take care of me, so the only thing that she knew to do was put me up for adoption, where I could be loved and cared for. That was the best decision that my mother could have ever made and I am so grateful to her for doing it. As I said, I am blessed to have been adopted into such a wonderful family. Parents who love me and parents who believe that the number one goal that they have for there children was to see them get saved, and to live for the Lord. I came to America on August 20, 1996!! And I have had so many opportunities to serve the Lord. I truly am blessed to have been adopted! Here are just so of the many pictures of the family that God has blessed me with!
And we're all soooo glad that you're part of our family! We love you and pray for you often. Give Grandpa and Grandma hugs from me.

ReplyDeleteHi Ruthie~
ReplyDeleteI am visiting from Courtney's blog. So, you may not know me. I do attend Holy Hills and I know a little about you and your family from the Grills'.
Just wanted to thank you for this sweet post. My husband and I adopted our son 9 years ago. So, any and every post about adoption always makes me perk up and pay attention.
I love and adore your sweet spirit about adoption and your family.
My son knows he is adopted but I would be fibbing if I said I didn't worry about what may happen when he turns 18.
God is in control and He definitely will direct our paths.
Thanks for letting me visit. :)
